The takeaway – It’s not too late to start selling on TikTok

We’ve all heard it, and most of us are guilty of saying it – “TikTok made me buy it.”

With more than 1 billion monthly users, TikTok is one of the fastest-growing social media platforms today. With TikTok’s explosive growth over the past two years, it’s no surprise that brands and creators are cashing in.

Amazon has gained a strong presence on TikTok with #amazonfinds generating more than 64.5 billion views across the platform. Snappy, relatable, and often viral content, coupled with Amazon’s affordability and convenience, make for the perfect pairing.

We’ve shown you how to sell on TikTok – now let’s explore the most popular products that have gone viral in 2023.

TikTok Made Me Search It

Each day, the average TikTok user opens the app at least eight times and spends  roughly 1.5 hours scrolling. TikTok has become so popular that 40% of Gen Zs actually prefer it for search instead of Google

When searching for products, the majority (51%) of consumers still prefer to start on Amazon; however, data from Jungle Scout reveals that nearly 16% now start with TikTok, which is expected to grow.

15 of Amazon’s Viral TikTok Products

We’ve included Amazon keyword search data to demonstrate the impact a viral TikTok video can have. You might notice that a product’s initial spike sometimes begins before, or not immediately after the video is posted, and also that there are still fluctuations in search volume afterwards. This is a good reminder that just because a product is viral does not mean it is automatically a surefire product for you to sell yourself. Always perform your product research in full!
