How to Track Keyword Ranking on Amazon in 2024 with Jungle Scout

By now, Amazon sellers know the importance of finding high-volume and relevant keywords to add to their product listings. But what is often overlooked is how well your products rank for those keywords.

Sellers need an Amazon keyword rank tracker to know where your product lands within the search results on Amazon for each specific keyword, especially when competing against many other sellers.

If you don’t know where your keywords are ranking, you won’t know how to improve your product performance or understand where you stand against your competitors.

Let’s go over how Jungle Scout’s Rank Tracker can help you better understand where your keywords are ranking on Amazon.

What is Rank Tracker?

Rank Tracker is one of Jungle Scout’s powerful features that allows you to monitor and track product keyword performance over time. Use the tool to track your own product’s keywords or your competition.

Why use an Amazon keyword rank tracker?

Like all of the tools included with Jungle Scout, Rank Tracker is a multipurpose tool capable of fulfilling the needs of many different sellers and their strategies.

Here are a few ways Rank Tracker can power up your Amazon business.

Rank Tracker features:

  • Know your rank. First, generate a keyword list in seconds using Keyword Scout.  Next, input the list into Rank Tracker. Whether you’re #1 or #50, you’ll see exactly where your product ranks organically on Amazon’s search engine pages.
  • Track your competitors. Keyword rank tracking isn’t limited to your own products. You can also put your competitors’ ASINs into the tracker to see the keywords they rank for. You can then use these insights to adjust your own strategy.
  • Monitor child ASINs. Knowing how a product’s variations are performing just became a whole lot easier. You can add multiple items to Rank Tracker so you can start tracking them at the same time.
  • Maximize your data analysis. Rank Tracker enables you to select preset filters, giving users actionable insights. It can also help prevent data paralysis!
  • Note changes to rank. By allowing users to note changes to rank and view them on the product’s ranking graph, Rank Tracker helps sellers determine which variables are affecting the item’s rank.

  • Find new opportunities. Are you missing out on keyword opportunities? Keyword rank tracking is important, and Rank Tracker can show you profitable keywords for which you don’t rank (and might be missing sales). Once you know these keywords, you can optimize your listing and PPC campaigns accordingly.
  • Eliminate inefficient keywords. If your product is ranking for irrelevant non-converting keywords, or if you’re overspending on non-ranking keywords, you can choose to cut those keywords. It will save you hundreds or thousands of dollars every month.
  • Organize your products and lists. Rank Tracker saves all of your keyword ranking information into product groups, allowing you to add or delete keywords as you continue to improve your products’ keyword lists.
  • Achieve Top 50 or even Top 10 status. Using Rank Tracker, you can discover how many different keywords your product ranks for within the top 10 and top 50 organic search results.

Manage your Amazon keywords all in one place

Thanks to Jungle Scout’s streamlined functionality, Rank Tracker works automatically with Jungle Scout’s other tools.

Without leaving the tool, you can navigate to Keyword Scout, enter a keyword related to your product, and watch as Keyword Scout gives you hundreds of suggested keywords. After you save the list, you can load it into Rank Tracker — all with just a few clicks.

How to get started with Rank Tracker

To access Rank Tracker, simply log in to your Jungle Scout account and click the Keywords dropdown menu, and choose Rank Tracker.

Next, click on the (+) button to add a new group and name your group.

Under “Choose one option,” choose one of your products or add a new ASIN. In this example, I will add a new ASIN. On the bottom right, you will see “Run Reverse ASIN Search.” This will use keyword data from Keyword Scout and populate your Keyword Bank on the left with the top 50 keywords for that ASIN. You can also add additional keywords if you wish.

In this step, you can add more keywords by choosing one of your saved keyword lists from Keyword Scout or by adding competing ASINs, and Rank Tracker will pull the top keywords from your competitor’s listings.

After you hit save, you can instantly see how well your keywords rank on Amazon.

When you click on a keyword down below, a graph will pop up on the side showing you organic ranking vs. sponsored. It will also show the search volume for that keyword.

As you can see, there is a lot of powerful data within the Rank Tracker tool. This kind of intelligence is key to fully understand where your products rank for specific keyword searches on Amazon. You can also view how well your competitors are ranking so you know which keywords to emphasize.
