For reference, here are some of the biggest takeaways from last year’s report.

  • 89% of Amazon sellers were profitable in 2022, up from 85% the year prior.
  • More than half of Amazon sellers had profit margins above 15% in 2022.
  • Social media advertising — and video content in particular — is soaring in popularity. 41% of sellers now market on social media, up 15% year over year.
  • China is still the biggest supplier for Amazon sellers, but sourcing from China decreased by 3% in 2023, while sourcing from the United States increased by 7%
  • 61% of Amazon sellers were selling on at least one other channel in 2022, up from 58% the year prior, and more than half planned to explore new ecommerce platforms and new global marketplaces in 2023.
