About Jake

  • How did you get started on Amazon?

Out of college, I started working with marketing agencies in my native Ohio, which gave me experience with small- to medium-sized brands and exposed me to the Amazon advertising space. I would partner with local clients as an Amazon consultant and scaled my main client from 6 to 8 figures within 2 years. In 2022, I launched my own brand, Natural Events, and we’re about to close in on 6-figures within our first 6 months in business.

  • What is your favorite tool to use from Jungle Scout?

Product Tracker! I probably have over 100 groups. Without it, I’d have to update a Google or Excel sheet manually, which would be incredibly time-consuming.

  • What’s the biggest mistake you’ve ever made selling on ecommerce?

A couple of mistakes were not creating a website or building up social media presence while waiting for my first round of inventory to arrive. It took two months to arrive, so I had plenty of time to create TikToks and build a blog. Instead, I took that time off to relax. Now that my days are filled with Amazon-related tasks, it would have been nice to have done all that work upfront.

  • Your advice for new sellers:

Invest in high-quality photos and images! Do not go the cheap route unless you’re confident in your photography skills. Images can make or break your listing and will greatly improve your organic performance, which can save you a lot of money!
