Fulfillment by Amazon is an incredible fulfillment method that most Amazon sellers use for their businesses. However, FBA often doesn’t make sense if you are selling a lower-priced product because of Amazon’s fulfillment costs.
The FBA Small and Light Program allows sellers to offer smaller, lighter, and cheaper products for a reduced fulfillment fee.
The reduced fulfillment fees give sellers more margin or the ability to pass the savings to their customers.
In the article, we’ll go over FBA Small and Light eligibility, why a seller would use the program, and how to enroll your products.
What is the FBA Small and Light program?
FBA Small and Light is a program created by Amazon that reduces fulfillment costs for products that meet certain criteria, including weight, size, and price. It allows sellers to offer small and lightweight products at an affordable price for customers.
If you sell low-priced products on Amazon, FBA feels will typically make selling them too expensive to be worth it. Small and Light will save you money on those fees to increase your margins.
Let’s review what makes your products eligible for the Small and Light program.
FBA Small and Light product eligibility
To be eligible for FBA Small and Light, your products must meet the following criteria:
- Measure 18 x 14 x 8 inches or less
- Weigh 3 lb or less
- Priced at $10 or less
- In New condition
The following product types are not eligible for Small and Light:
- Restricted products
- FBA prohibited products
- Adult products
- Dangerous goods (hazmat)
- Temperature-sensitive products (such as chocolates)
Crushable products, such as potato chips and glass, are eligible as long as they are properly packaged.
If your products meet the above criteria, you can enroll in the Small and Light program and save on fulfillment fees! If your product is enrolled and later priced above $10, they will automatically be removed from the program.
